Although somewhat predictable, Twelve Angry Men was quite enjoyable. It featured a roster of many delightful actors, which was made possible because the entire movie took place in one room so they did not have to spend so much money on the set, special effects, etc.Over the course of the movie, many conflicts arise amongst twelve men of different generations, races, and cultures. In what seems to be an open and shut case atfirst, one juror who decides to speak his mind has reason to believe that there is some "reasonable doubt".From this point we delve into the lives and backgrounds of all of the jurors. We stumble upon many stereotypical characters such as the angry black man who cannot help but reveal the true feelings behind his verdict of guilty. The rest of the group then came to realize that he was a confused and mentally troubled man and insisted that he shut his mouth.
I most enjoyed the conflict between the two elderly fathers. In the end, it was revealed that one of the fathers only wanted the boy on trial to be convicted because his son had betrayed him earlier in life.At one point, this conflict almost turned physical.I liked the fact that we saw the entire trial through the jurors' eyes.It was a totally new perspective, unlike any other court movie.
In my opinion, this movie was excellent and I would like to see the original sometime in the near future.I would recommend this film to all.
