Another example is when Okonkwo participates in the killing of Ikemefuna He participates in order to show the people that he is not weak and "Agbal" like his father, who is said to be useless and worthless like a woman. In the Ibo culture, women are only viewed to be gentle and caring. They are expected to take care of their children with their best ability.In the novel, "the native son by Richard Wright", black people are being discriminated. They had no choice but to be isolated in a place, only for blacks, and even was charged more in the rental fee. Black receives nothing from the government. The government only looks out for the white people. It is very hard, and almost impossible for the blacks to get a job, or if they were lucky enough, their job would be only from minimum wage. Most black people doesn't receive education at all. Black people aren't even allowed to seat beside a white person in the bus. During those days, racism is all what they do. They treats black people on how they see them, as nothing. Over the years, black history can be found everywhere. A lot of black people sacrificed their lives and suffered the consequences on just because their black. A lot of blacks were mistreated not because who they are, it's because on what they are. We can see that there are similarities on discriminations between the two novel, "things fall apart, and the native son".
