Sunny California, late 1960s, the place where much of a recent graduate of Harvard, Ben Braddock, played by Dustin Hoffman, comes home; worried about his future after college is in for the surprise of his life.This film by Mike Nichols is an amazing display talent and cinematography.Nichols was wise to choose the cast he did for this movie.A young and dashing Dustin Hoffman, one of the greatest actors today, gives an outstanding performance throughout the movie.Mrs. Robinson, played by Anne Bancroft, portrays the very sexy and seductive role as wife to Mr. Robinson, played by Murray Hamilton also known for his role in Jaws, a successful lawyer and partner of the great William Daniels playing Mr. Braddock father of Ben and husband to a very beautiful Mrs. Braddock, played by Elizabeth Wilson.
The environment, other than my home, I was in a very critical mind.Preoccupied at times with my family coming in for a wedding, I was still able to watch the movie and maintain focus.I had many expectations for this movie based on what I've heard from many people; and many of them were met, like the performance, and the storyline.
Dustin Hoffman's performance was outstanding in this film about a young man about to discover his manhood and himself.The portrayal of Mrs. Robinson could not be played better by any other woman of that time; Anne Bancroft's seduction and mischief played well and seduced me to watch more and more.The comedic scene at the Taft Hotel with Ben Braddock trying to get a room and trying to as inconspicuously as possible just made me roll around laughing.Later in the film when Ben was trying to get Elaine, played by Katherine Ross who was probably one of the most beautiful women I've seen, to marry him and then trying as hard as he possibly could to find where she was getting married was really funny.Elaine's beauty is seen when Ben takes her out, after promising Mrs. Robinson …
