The part of the movie we watched in class started off by introducing some of the characters. There was Benny, Carrot, Lil' Zé, and a few others. There seems to be a party going on, Benny's going away party where all the different groups have all seemed to mesh together to say goodbye to Benny. Lil' Zé tries to convince Benny that he should stay but Benny wants to move to the country with his girlfriend and smoke weed (thefirst introduction of drugs). Lil' Zé, who apparently has never danced in his life, asks a girl to dance. After she says that she is with someone, he finds the guy and makes him strip at gunpoint in front of a crowd of people. At this point, some guys come up to Benny asking if they can trade a camera for some cocaine. Benny says he isn't dealing anymore but is convinced by his girlfriend that the camera would be a good present for one of their friends, Rocket. When Lil' Zé sees Benny give Rocket the camera, he leaves the guy who is now naked, and goes to argue with the guys. The music is loud, the lights are flashing, people are dancing, fighting; Carrot pulls out a gun, trying to shoot Lil' Zé and ends up killing Benny. All the people at the party flee from the scene immediately. Carrot runs to some friends to try to get help but they are so angry that he killed Benny (Benny help their "business") that they kill him.
Lil' Zé and his "gang" find the girl who rejected him and the guy that Zé made strip. They beat the guy and rape the girl. They act as if there are no laws to restrict their behavior. The guy that Lil' Zé made strip goes home and says that he cannot even look her in the face anymore and asks why they didn't just kill him. At the same moment, the video goes to a parallel of Lil' Zé saying "Why didn't we kill him?" This all occurs while the gang is g…
