A great satire of the Russian Revolution is a book written by George Orwell.Animal Farm is a powerful novel that shows the flaws and travesties that come along with gaining power. In this novel George Orwell mocks the Russian Revolution and paints readers a great picture of the evil that comes with power.
Animal Farm is a reflection of our real lives, only presented in a different way. Readers can easily understand this world and the reality of human nature more clearly from this story. George Orwell shows that power is always seated where money is evident. An example of this is when the pigs make arrangements for trade with mankind. This of which is a critical view of politics as power, and how no one is free from human greed.
Power is one of the most addicting feelings. The more power a person gets, the more power a person will want. Napoleon, a great example of this, uses many techniques against the uneducated masses, which represent the working animals of the farm. He belittles and brainwashes them. He uses the sheep as slogan spreaders, and this slogan acts as a powerful tool when other animals begin to think. He also uses Propaganda and euphemisms in order to influence the animals into believing that Napoleon is a good leader.
When Napoleon seizes control of the farm, he slowly dismantles the Animalistic system in which Old Major created. By carefully altering their symbols of freedom and patriotic sayings, he establishes a conniving government which is at least as unjust if not even worse than its precursor. Orwell also tries to portray the empty promises from the pigs, as not to trust everything, because this is what lead to the downfall of the farm. He shows that asking questions and using your mind will benefit everyone.
