Animal Farm, a novel by George Orwell, is a story of rebellion against humankind. Set on a farm in England, this novel is about an angry community of common animals who revolted against not only their owner, but all of humankind. The animals take over the running of the farm, and everything is wonderful for a while, until the pigs get out of hand. This book is an example of what happens when a planned revolution does not go as exactly planned.
Mr. Jones the owner of Manor Farm, is driven off of the farm one night by the animals. After Mr. Jones is gone the animals form a government where the most intelligent pigs are in control. Seven rules are made to keep their revolt strong and powerful. For example, none of the animals were allowed to go into the house, sleep on the beds, or kill another animal.Furthermore, the animals agree that no animal can have any contact with humans.
The animals are very pleased with their lives because they are now in control of the farm that they have worked on their entire life. The name of the fame is changed from Manor Farm to Animal Farm to represent the animals. The pigs start to bend the commandments of the farm and the entire government becomes corrupt and unfair. The two pigs that head the farm are Napoleon and Snowball, who disagree on everything. Snowball comes up with an idea to build a windmill but Napoleon opposes to the idea.Snowball also thinks that the animals should help other farms rebel and Napoleon thinks they should get guns.It is at this time that Napoleon realizes that while ruling with Snowball he will never have all the power he wants, so he has Snowball driven off the farm by nine dogs.Napoleon tells the other pigs that Snowball was secretly working for Jones and that is why he must leave the farm. From that point on, Snowball becomes a scapegoat for whatever goes wrong on the farm, as greed takes control of the life of Napoleon.The animals build a windmill for ele…
