The initial attribute that allured me to Carthage was the astounding vista from the campus.The campus rests at the shores of Lake Michigan.A simple glimpse from the corner of campus reveals a view that stirs the soul.When I was still in grade school, I accompanied a friend of mine when she went to view the campus.It was a blustery January day and the outdoor section of the tour was quite brisk.I was anxious to warm myself in a nearby building.Upon the brink of numbness, we approached the edge of campus, near the shore.There I beheld an invigorating picture of the sun glistening over the waters of Lake Michigan.It is a sight that I have held on to since that day.Many colleges are situated amongst the most populous part of a city.This does not allow for many beautiful surroundings, unless man-made.Carthage has one of natures most mysterious and fascinating aspects situated in view from campus.
When perusing through the Carthage website last school year, I came across a possibility which I had never encountered in any other college.Many offered extended learning activities, but none to the extent of the January Term.I became intrigued by the opportunity to expand my learning through unique approaches.I entirely relish the idea of learning in an original manner.I tend to think and learn in a sense that most do not.The opportunity of the J-Term provides me with an outlet for my unique sense of comprehension.There are very few places that acknowledge the differences that exist in the w…

Greek God: Zeus Zeus is the “Father of Gods and Men. ” He ruled over Mount Olympus, which is the mountain that twelve of the most important gods and goddesses lived on. According to Greek mythology, he was the god of the sky and of thunder. Zeus could create and throw lightning bolts as he rode across the sky on his winged horse called “Pegasus. ” He is also known for promoting justice. He was referred to as the “protector Of the weak and punisher Of the Wicked. ” He is symbolized using a thunderbolt, an eagle, a bull, and an oak. His roman equivalent was Jupiter.
Zeus is the son of Crocus and Rhea and the youngest of all of his siblings. His father swallowed all of his other siblings for fear of being replaced as king. So, when Rhea was about to give birth to Zeus, she went to a cave, gave birth to Zeus, and left him there in safety. She then gave Crocus a rock wrapped in blankets which he then swallowed. Zeus was raised by a woman named Gaga, a goat, and a nymph. He eventually overcame his father and became king. He also rescued his siblings from his father’s stomach, His brother Hades was the god of he underworld and his brother Poseidon was the god to the sea.
Most stories say that he married to his sister, Hear, but according to the Iliad, he was married to Done as well as the father of Aphrodite. He was also said to be the father of Athena, Apollo and Artemisia, Hermes, Persephone (by Demeter), Dionysus, Peruses, Heraclites, Helen of Troy, Minis, and the Muses. He slept with many women, including Antoine, Socialist, Danna, Europe, Electra, Tagged, Nibble, 10, Smell, Themes, Lead, Let, Maria, Moneys, Demeter and Elegance. He was known for sleeping with whoever he wanted to and whenever e wanted to.

There were many cults in Greek culture that worshiped Zeus and made sacrifices to him. The Olympics were held in honor of him. Zeus is a big part of the Greek culture that we learn about today, and he is the cost recognized Greek god.
The Olympics are still held, but they aren’t really in his honor anymore, He is even mentioned in the Bible, both times in the book of Acts. The Spring/Summer 2014 Men’s Collection by Dolce and Cabana was inspired by Zeus. His picture is on a Greek coin as well as the visa identity cards in the United Kingdom. This has been controversial because some people think that this is celebrating rape, since Zeus was said to have raped several women.
